About This Trail: Colorado Springs was founded by General William Jackson Palmer. General Palmer donated over 2,000 acres of parks space to the city of Colorado Springs. Palmer Park was one of eight parks that were created when the land was divided up. source: www.springsgov.com

This park is truly amazing. Located in the heart of the city it acts as an oasis to local mountain bike addicts. Terrain includes everything from easy service road to highly technical singletrack. Explorers and locals will find the most benefit. The park offers a vast array of trails and trail combinations that won't make anyone ride the same route twice.

You probably have noticed that there is not a great deal of elevation change on this ride. If you are looking for a lung and leg burner of a climb this probably isn't the park for you. Some trails have quick steep climbs, but the main attraction of the park is the technical riding you can encounter.

Trail Description: The best thing to do on this network is not stick to any one trail. There are so many intersections that take you to so many different types of terrain that you would be missing out if you didn't experiment a little. This method will be a little less frustrating as well. If you try to stick to any one trail you will be stopping every couple hundred feet trying to orient yourself while reading trail signs. So clear your mind, let your legs spin, and head out for fun ride.
