Authored By: TrailCentral Belcher - Longhorn - Mustang Description: This is a route that I'm glad I did, but I'll never do it this way again. I had never ridden the full length of Longhorn from the base parking lot, usually opting to take the Shorthorn shortcut. I decided for this route I would take the steep descent (continuing Longhorn) at the Longhorn/Shorthorn intersection. During the descent I was like "This is cool!", but then I had to ride up the other valley wall. More like walk up the other valley wall. Between the steep pitch, loose dirt, and waterbars every couple meters I felt like I was hiking more than biking that section of trail. Once I got off Longhorn the rest of the ride was perfect. Mustang was a fun descent and Belcher Hill is always an easy ride down to the parking lot. If I were to do this route again I would skip the middle of Longhorn and replace it with the Shorthorn shortcut. I figure everyone that lives near and trains on White Ranch should experience the entire length of Longhorn, but I'm sure that will be the first and last time for most.

Authored By: TrailCentral Almost All Rights Description: Inspired by Kyle's Trail of the Month write-up I headed for White Ranch and recorded his Almost All Rights route with my GPS. In Kyle's words "By doing this you make a huge loop though White Ranch and hit what amounts to the best trails of the area." I couldn't agree more. This track includes the following trails: Belcher - Longhorn - Shorthorn - Rawhide - Mustang. Minimum elevation = 6,150' and Maximum elevation = 7,874' with 2,883' of total elevation gain. Total distance for the ride is 13.7 miles.
