About Rlog

What is Rlog one would ask? Well, Rlog is a motivational tool born from two cycling nuts. This is a rider's log in which riders can score points and go head to head with friends and strangers around the world. There are 4 areas to score points on including speed, distance, elevation, and heart rate. We have designed this to be fair for all disciples of the sport. So if you are a "track hammer" or a "roadie", then you can keep scores with your mountain bike friends! No one group can out-score another. A hard ride is a hard ride and an easy ride is an easy ride. We want this to motivate and to be fun. Please be safe and don't try to be a "hero." Train smart, not stupid. Stupid gets you dead.

Points for Speed

  • Road Bikes Base Speed 15mph
  • Single Speed Road Bike12 mph
  • Mountain Bike 7 mph
  • SS Mountain Bike 7 mph
  • Track 15 mph
  • Points for Elevation

  • Elevation is 1 point per 500 feet of elevation gain and 2 points after you gain 10,000 total feet.
  • For example: You ride 11,000 ft in elevation. You would receive 24 points, 20 for the first 10,000 and 4 for the other 1,000.
  • Points for distance

  • Distance is 1 point per 10 miles until you reach the century mark. Then it is 2 pts per 10 miles.
  • For example: You ride for a 110 miles, which gives you 12 pts, 10 points for the first 100 miles and 2 points for the 10 remaining miles.
  • Points for Heart Rate

  • Points for heart rate zones:
    • Zone 1 = 1 pt per 30 mins in the zone
    • Zone 2 = 2 pts per 30 mins in the zone
    • Zone 3 = 3 pts per 10 mins in the zone
    • Zone 4 (just below lactate threshold) = 4 pts per 5 minutes in the zone
    • Zone 5 (above LTHR) = 5 pts per 2 mins in the zone
  • For Example: You ride for 30 mins to warm-up in zone 2, which gives you 2 pts. Then you started to ride 30 min at tempo in zone 3, which gives you an additional 6 pts. Then you do some over/unders, 3 reps with 1min x 3 mins, which gives you 7.2 points for the time spent in zone 4 and 7.5 pts for the time spent in zone 5. Your total points will equal 22.7. In addition to the the points calculated for your average speed points, elevation and distance.
  • We hope you enjoy this and find it helpful for your training and just "good ole competition."
